CoderDojo Sligo is now full and cannot take any further registrations. If you are interested in attending a dojo in future please complete the waiting list form and we will contact you as and when space is available. You can access the form at this link http://bit.ly/1v9uTRI
Technical mentors are always welcome, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more!
Well #ninjas hope you enjoyed your weekend. I promised you a few links would be posted so hopefully I haven’t forgotten any. Let me know if I have & I’ll post them asap 🙂
You’ll find any of the games we work on during our Saturday sessions on our CoderDojo_Sligo Scratch account.
There is an older account there too called CoderDojoSligo, feel free to check out the games there as well.
We mentioned using different ways of creating a sprite (character) for our Scratch games. Inkscape is one way you could investigate if you wanted.
If you want to try something a little bit different why not check out Thinking Myself. It’s a pretty fun way to solve some problems without instructions.
Other online resources we’ve mentioned so far are:
Lightbot where you can solve puzzles using programming
Blockly – games for tomorrows programmers (tip work your way through these)
For younger budding programmers with access to an iPad there is ScratchJr available as a free download on the App Store while an Android version is hopefully to be released in December.
One we didn’t mention just yet is Hour of Code, there are so many options to choose from for all ages and levels!!
See you on Saturday and don’t forget to let me know if I missed anything 🙂
